From reader Jen:
I recently spoke with Downtown Books & News in Asheville about starting a book club every other week hosted at the bookstore. He was in to me starting a book club there but they would like me to first see if there is any interest for a book club.
I was thinking Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30. Please let me know if anyone has any interest. I also would like to get some book suggestions.
If there is interest out there I will post details. Below are a few I thought might work and be of interest to others.
Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut
It Chooses You by Miranda July
An Arsonist’s Guide to Writers’ Homes in New England by Brock Clarke
Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins

I am an avid reader and am getting started as a writer as well, so I’d be happy to attend a book club. I live right downtown about two and a half blocks from Downtown Books and News, so it’s pretty convenient for me.
If you’ve got Facebook we could start a group.
Just moved to Asheville (and the multiple local, used bookstores certainly added to my love of and decision to move here!!) and would love to join-in in starting a book club.
Am an avid reader and make my living (in part) by writing. Would certainly support a new book club–Downtown Books and News is a great place!
