Eating after midnight: Asheville’s open-late restaurants

For the purposes of this post, we’re defining “open late” as serving until at least midnight, and preferably later. Here’s the list:

The Lexington Aveneue Brewery (downtown): Great food, great beer brewed in-house.
Mon.-Sat. 11:30 a.m —2 a.m.
Sunday 12:00 p.m —2 a.m.
Late Night Menu 11 p.m.—1:30 a.m.

51 Grill (North Asheville): The greasy spoon that’s got what it takes. Located in a gas station on Merrimon. Open LATE every day but Sunday and Monday.
Mon 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Tue-Thu 11 a.m. – 4 a.m.
Fri-Sat 11 am – 5 am

Curate (downtown): Tapas bar with an El Bulli-trained chef. Open until they close Tue-Sun, taking reservations until 11:30 p.m. Reservations not required.

Rise N Shine Cafe (North Asheville): “Healthy homestyle breakfast and lunch” served Thu-Sat  10 p.m. until 3 a.m. Late-night dining may be available in summer months only.

Barley’s Taproom (downtown): Good pizza, salads, calzones and beer. Mon-Sat 11:30am-2pm; Sun 12pm-12am.

The Southern Kitchen and Bar (downtown): Slightly upscale Southern comfort food and beer. Open every day, 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.

French Broad Chocolate Lounge (downtown): Handmade chocolate, cookies, cakes, brownies, fudge, creme brulee, pots de creme… Beer, wine, and coffee, too. See you there.

Open Sun-Thu, 11 a.m.-11 p.m., Fri & Sat: 11 a.m. – 12 a.m.

MoDaddy’s Bar (downtown): Cheese sticks, onion rings & sliders, plus beer and live music. Open daily 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Hannah Flanagan’s Pub (downtown): Irish pub with bar food & good outdoor seating. Open Mon-Sat 11 a.m.-2 a.m.; Sun 12 p.m.-2 a.m.

Universal Joint (West Asheville) : Burgers, sandwiches, salads, fish tacos, tater tots, local beer.

Monday – Thursday: 11:30 a.m. – 1 a.m.
Friday – Saturday: 11:30 a.m. – 2 a.m.
Sunday: 12 p.m. – 12 a.m.

Standard Pizza (West Asheville): Hip indie pizza joint.  Mon-Thu,Sun 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Fri-Sat 11 a.m. – 1 a.m.; Sun. 12 p.m. -11 p.m.

Rosetta’s Kitchen (downtown): Vegan and vegetarian comfort food: salads, wraps, soups, rice, veggies, amazing desserts.

Mon. – Thu. 11 a.m. -11 p.m.; Fri-Sat 11 a.m. – 3 a.m.

Sunday brunch 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

One Stop Deli & Bar (downtown, former location of Stella Blue): Sandwiches, burgers, onion rings, beer. Tues – Sat, 11 a.m. – 2p.m.

DeSoto Lounge (West Asheville):  Sandwiches, salads, wraps, appetizers. Nachos, grilled pimento cheese sandwiches, house-made desserts. And ping-pong.

3 p.m. – 2 a.m. daily.

Storm Rhum Bar (downtown): Upscale sandwiches and burgers, huevos rancheros, great cocktails. Late night menu available Sun – Weds 10 p.m. – 1 a.m.; Thu–Sat 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Vault (downtown): Apps, pizza, soups, salads, wraps and desserts until last call. According to a commenter, looks like that’s around 1:30 a.m. The Vault is open 7 days a week.

Circle in the Square (North Asheville): Pizza, hot sandwiches, stromboli and calzone. “A little slice of New York.” Late night menu is Fri & Sat only, 11 p.m. – 2 a.m.

    DeSoto Lounge in West Ashe keeps the kitchen open til 1 am with a full menu and pretty fast and yummy eats.

    Storm Rhum Bar and Bistro is opened till 2 am with an amazing late night menu: the storm burger, ceviche, tacos, etc… incredible late night goodness. 125 Lexington ave. Behind the Orange peel, corner of Hilard.

    Cookout in West Asheville on Patton Avenue (between Louisiana Ave and Leicester Hwy) is open till one a.m. I haven’t eaten at it or the one on Tunnel Road but folks I know like it.

    I notice you’ve got the U-Joint, but left out the Westville Pub across the street. Good eats late there. Kitchen ’til 1am on Friday-Saturday.
