TED.com = The website for the TED conference

The TED conference = An series of elite annual conferences in which presenters like Jane Goodall, Al Gore and Bill Gates share their idea of a lifetime, in 18 minutes or less

TEDxAsheville = The annual, locally organized downtown conference that gives local people and select non-locals a chance to share their own great ideas, tech demos and great performances. All talks and performances are recorded and shared with TED.com.

According to a recent TED.com blog post, there are 12,900 TEDx talks. Only 122, less then 1%, have been picked up by the TED conference.

This talk, given on the stage of the Diana Wortham on Nov. 13, 2011, appeared on TED.com yesterday, where it’s already racked up tens of thousands of hits from an international audience.

Go Asheville!
