Ask anyone in town who has the best ice cream and the answer is bound to be The Hop. Greg & Ashley have done a tremendous job at creating a very active presence within our community. So much so, that we feel pretty dedicated at making sure all of our ice cream purchases are at their Merrimon location. Now those of us on the west side don’t have to travel so far. On Friday October 15, Hop West is officially open at 721 Haywood Street!
Right smack dab in the heart of West Asheville you can enjoy all the wonderful goodies they create. I went to the Grand Opening on Friday and was quite pleased to see they were busy as always. The decor is the same as the Merrimon Avenue location, their own twist on things!
Jared Rutland of Rutland Art will also be canvassing the walls with art for the kidlets! As we enjoyed munching on free kiddie scoops for the evening we took in some of the entertainment on hand. Gavin Connor provided some acoustic music that everyone seemed to really enjoy. Kevin Thompson of The Jolly Balloon Smiths was on hand creating whatever children could think of as balloon art.
Lots of happy faces, chit chats with Greg & Ashley, and a warm environment ensures us that Hop West will be around for quite sometime. Thank you for coming to the west side and I hope to see lots of you there!
